Tryouts for Girls Basketball
8th GRADE LADY EAGLE BASKETBALL TRYOUTS
Season 2026 - 2027
WHO: Any eligible 8th grade female interested in basketball
WHEN: Monday 10/19 through Wednesday 10/21
WHERE: East Middle School (players from South MS and North MS will be bused over to East MS after school; parents must pick up promptly
after tryouts at East Middle School)
TIME: After school around 4:15 - 6:00 pm
REQUIREMENTS BEFORE TRYOUTS:
Each student MUST have a current physical and the following MSHSAA Pre-Participation forms
Parent - Consent and Insurance Information
Parent - Current Health and Injury Update
Parent - Medical Clearance Form Upload
Student - Current Health and Injury Update
Student Agreement (Regarding Conditions for Participation)
Please Note: All forms can now be filled out electronically using the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
*For those currently playing a Fall school sport you will have already met the requirement and do not need to resubmit any forms)DRESS: T-shirt, athletic shorts, basketball shoes (or at least indoor tennis shoes), and a water bottle. All athletes must have their hair pulled
back out of their face, and NO jewelry.
Coaches: Head Coach Holly Tyson; Assistant Coaches Keisha Smith and Morgan Secrist
At the end of tryouts on Wednesday we will inform the athletes as to who has made the team, if selected practices will begin the following day Thursday October 22nd, same place and time.
